The island

Ios.

The island that refuses to grow up. Mylopotas beach all day, the village square all night, and a crowd that treats sunrise as a checkpoint, not a finish line.

How Ios works

Ios keeps the simplest nightlife formula in the Cyclades, and the best value. Days belong to Mylopotas Beach, anchored by FarOut Beach Club, family-run since 1977, where peak-season afternoons bring bookings like Cloonee, Patrick Topping and Joel Corry for ticket prices that would barely cover a cocktail one island north. Nights belong to Chora, the hilltop village whose pedestrian lanes pack in more bars per square meter than almost anywhere in Greece.

The rhythm is a tide: beach until sunset, dinner and a shower, then into the village after midnight, where cover charges are rare and the small clubs run past sunrise. Buses shuttle the ten-minute Mylopotas-to-Chora run constantly in season. The calendar below lists the ticketed events worth planning around; the village crawl needs no schedule.

Ios nightlife FAQ

Where is the nightlife on Ios?

Two places: Mylopotas Beach by day, with FarOut Beach Club as the anchor, and Chora, the main village, from midnight, where dozens of bars and small clubs fill the pedestrian lanes.

How much does a night out on Ios cost?

Little, by island standards. Ticketed events at FarOut on our calendar run 15 to 25 euros, most village bars have no cover, and drinks cost a fraction of Mykonos prices.

When is the Ios party season?

June to early September, with July and August as the full-throttle months when the village is busy every night of the week.

What time do the bars in Chora get going?

After midnight. The village is quiet at 23:00 and full by 01:00, and the late clubs keep going past sunrise.
